Learning from the Dreamtime
Our philosophy, which stems from our motto, learning from the Dreamtime, acknowledges the wisdom, culture and beliefs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that has been passed on through generations. Kidz Mob believes that incorporating Indigenous culture, and the culture of families who attend our services, is the key to fostering a community of services that are inclusive, environmentally conscious, and a safe space for all children.

Highlights
Winter Vacation Care!
Our Winter Vacation Care program runs from the 24th June to 5th July at both our Mapleton and Childers services! Check out our fun filled programs on the service locations page!
Preparing for our Mapleton NAIDOC Week Celebration!
We have been lucky enough to receive a NAIDOC Local Grant this year and will be hosting a Blak Loud and Proud NAIDOC Week celebration at Mapleton State School. Hop onto our Facebook for more information!
Under 8's Day
We had the pleasure of being invited to participate in Under 8's Day at Mapleton and Childers. We ran an activity for all the children in attendance utilising natural coloured playdough, sticks, rocks, leaves and Aboriginal symbols hand drawn and laminated by our team! It was a huge success and the children all enjoyed discussing the symbols they were making.
Reconciliation Week
Now More Than Ever!
This year we focused on filling our services with incredible Aboriginal art created through activities with our children, and ensuring that our Reconciliation board display included information about Reconciliation, and culture. We have found that children learn best by doing, and a hands on approach to intergrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture into OSHC is imperative.
Intergenerational Play Excursion
Kidz Mob Childers linked in with the Childers Neighbourhood Centre and attended their once a month Intergenerational playgroup at Forest View Aged Care on 24th June 2024. It was a great opportunity for children to interact with the residents, and each child got to participate in a range of fun activities (including a dance party) and received a party bag at the end. The benefits of intergenerational play include improvements in physical health, mental health, cognitive abilities and communication skills for both the residents and children.
